Fantasy Baseball Team Name Contest: Most Intimidating

The intimidating team name is kind of like Clint Eastwood. A dying breed that’s not so fearsome anymore. (You know what I mean if you’ve seen Clint with his hiked up sweats in Gran Torino.) Still, they both have their place thanks to old-school appeal.

Some straightforward intimidating names I’ve recognized in the past include “The Plague” and “Lord of the Rings.” But the new generation of intimidating names use intimidation in the context of cleverness. Old favorites “Haas of Payne” (after the dual owners’ last names) and “Toucans of Whoopass” were pioneers of this methodology.

So with that in mind, let’s hear some of your most intimidating team names. Put them in comments by April 30, and I’ll subsequently choose finalists to be voted on by Roto Rebel readers.
