Spot Start: Tommy Hunter

Since being called up at the end of June, 23-year-old Rangers starter Tommy Hunter has gone 2-1 with a 2.17 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 15 K over 29 innings. While the big kid will obviously not sustain those lofty numbers, he has the stuff to be a successful major leaguer. (Over three seasons in the minors, he owns a 3.57 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and 6.1 K/9.) More importantly, he could provide an effective spot start tomorrow when he faces Detroit (the MLB's 15th-ranked offense) at home. Note also that he's slated to face the league's 2nd worst offense (Seattle) in his following start (also at home). As such, he makes a decent choice for a spot start or two in daily leagues and an even better two-start grab in weekly leagues.
