So you’d better move him while you have a chance to get something in return, because he’s as likely to remain good for four months as a tuna salad sandwich. Here’s why:
- He’s a high injury risk. (Duh.) He’s averaged 50 games a season since 2006 and has chronic back problems.
- He’s averaging less than 26 minutes per game so far this year, and he’s not likely to see a significant increase given his back issues.
- Starting in Week 5, the Hornets have three two-game weeks over a five-week span! (See Roto Rebel’s Schedule Grid.) If you don’t move him before then, you will suffer through three weeks of uselessness at the end of which Peja could very well be back on the shelf.
- The Hornets have the worst possible playoff schedule.
