After scoring a total of 13 points in his last four games, Philadelphia's Marreese Speights blew up for 23 points and nine boards despite playing just 17 minutes. While this certainly could be an anomaly, it could also be the first sign that the 23-year-old big man may be ready to turn the corner. Speights has shown flashes of fantasy brilliance in the past, and the Sixers appear to think the third-year player has a bright future. Coach Doug Collins recently praised his work ethic, and some say Philly is reluctant to trade the former Gator.
Current starting center Spencer Hawes has been unimpressive, possibly leaving the door open for Speights. If Speights starts playing 25 or more minutes per game, he will be a decent source of points, boards, and blocks.
